  1. A group giveaway puts several authors on one page.
  2. Each author brings one reader magnet, and each reader chooses one free book.
  3. Select Create giveaway.
  4. Under About the giveaway, add a title and a short description for the top of the page.
  5. Choose a genre: it helps other authors find your giveaway.
  6. The page address is suggested from the title.
  7. Under Dates and places, pick a start and an end date, in your timezone.
  8. The end date must be within 90 days of the start.
  9. Places counts every author, including you.
  10. The giveaway needs at least three authors to go live.
  11. Choose the live reader magnet you want to bring.
  12. Its files and delivery stay the same.
  13. Who can join shows the requirements for taking part.
  14. Select Create giveaway.
  15. Your giveaway is recruiting.
  16. It goes live on its start date once at least three authors have joined.
  17. Copy the invitation link and send it to authors you'd like to include.
  18. Join requests appear here, with each author's book, level and where they found your giveaway.
  19. You decide on every request: select Accept or Decline.
  20. With three authors in, the giveaway is ready to go live on its start date.
  21. You can also join other authors.
  22. Find giveaways lists giveaways that are still recruiting, sorted by the highest author level in each giveaway.
  23. Select Ask to join.
  24. Choose the magnet you bring, then read the rules.
  25. Each reader gets one book from the giveaway, and the books appear in random order.
  26. The organiser sees your level and decides.
  27. Select Send join request.
  28. When a giveaway is live, you get your own tracking link.
  29. Visitors who arrive through it count for you, whichever book they choose.
  30. Every participant sees the same statistics.
  31. Share your link with your readers.
  32. Readers see every book on one page, in a random order on each visit.
  33. They choose one book, and any opt-ins go only to that book's author.
  34. Your rating card shows your level.
  35. It averages your latest finished giveaways: readers you brought, readers who chose your book from other links, and a little for visitors.
  36. Your level stays Empty Cheeks until two giveaways count.
  37. Other authors see your level; readers never do.

This walkthrough shows how to create a group giveaway, accept other authors, ask to join another giveaway, share your tracking link and read the statistics, what readers see, and how your giveaway rating works.

  1. Open Group giveaways.

    Before you start, publish your author profile and have one live reader magnet. Open Group giveaways and select Create giveaway.

  2. Describe the giveaway.

    Under About the giveaway, fill in Title and Description (up to 300 characters, shown at the top of the giveaway page). Choose a Genre, or leave No genre. The Page address is suggested from the title.

  3. Choose the dates and places.

    Under Dates and places, choose a Start date and an End date. The giveaway starts at midnight on the start date and ends at midnight after the end date, in your timezone. The end date must be within 90 days of the start. Set Places: from 3 to 10 authors, including you. The giveaway needs at least 3 authors to go live.

  4. Choose your book.

    Under Your book in this giveaway, choose your live Reader magnet. The magnet stays as it is; the giveaway page links to the same files and delivery. Select Create giveaway.

  5. Invite authors.

    On the giveaway page, select Copy invitation link and send the link to authors you want to include. Authors can also find your giveaway in Find giveaways. Either way, their request needs your approval.

  6. Accept or decline join requests.

    Under Join requests, check each author's book, level and source, then select Accept or Decline. If fewer than 3 authors have joined by the start date, the giveaway does not go live.

  7. Find other giveaways.

    To join another author’s giveaway, open Find giveaways, use the search, genre and start filters, and select Ask to join.

  8. Send a join request.

    Choose the magnet you bring, read the rules and select Send join request. The organiser sees your level and decides.

  9. Share your tracking link.

    When the giveaway is live, open it and select Copy your tracking link. Share it with your readers: visitors who arrive through it count for you, whichever book they choose. Every participant sees the statistics: unique visitors, books chosen, confirmed readers and opt-ins.

  10. What readers see.

    Each reader chooses one book from the giveaway, and the choice is final. Books appear in a random order on each visit. Opt-ins go only to the author of the chosen book.

  11. Your giveaway rating.

    Your giveaway rating belongs to your pen name. It averages your latest counted giveaways: readers brought, book appeal and a small share for visitors. Your level stays Empty Cheeks until 2 giveaways have counted. Other authors see your level; readers never do. See How the rating works for the formula.

Check you’re done

  • Your giveaway has the title, dates, places and reader magnet you chose.
  • You have copied the invitation link and reviewed any join requests.
  • Once the giveaway is live, you have copied your own tracking link, ready to share.

Common questions

How many authors are needed to go live?

At least 3 authors, including you. The giveaway goes live on its start date once enough authors have joined.

Can a reader choose more than one book?

No. Each reader chooses one book, and the choice is final.

Do reader opt-ins go to every participating author?

No. Readers can opt in only to the author of the book they chose.
